January 17, 2019|PISTOLS

Well I woke up this morning and began reading through some news feeds and, of course, the comments therein. Topic of discussion today started out as “the local park is closed due to Trump’s shutdown!” Comments like this I’m sure we are all aware of reading at one point or another during the past two years. Some of us may even support that position and that’s perfectly OK. My personal opinion on this matter is better left unsaid in public, let’s just say if you are an active proponent against the wall and have doors on your home I will never take you seriously.
Clearly I’m being passive-aggressive here, but my point can be taken none-the-less. How has this country lost so much common sense? How have we stopped trying to be the best and the brightest in exchange for whoever, whenever, wherever and don’t question anything. This is insane thought, I’m truly terrified about the world my children will grow up in. And these are only the worries that I share publicly.
So how does this play into my FN 509 Tactical pistol featured in this blog post? I think the inspiration for this writing, the state of the country, selected this weapon for discussion today. I first purchased this firearm last year and carried it daily for quite some time. I started open carrying for a couple of reasons; first reason being to display an unpopular principle; I’m in the store with my child while open carrying and it’s ok, nobody died. The second reason for open carrying is that I am much more deadly with a familiarized open carry weapon platform which is very important to me in a country where I no longer feel safe.
I began worrying about a number of things in our country about a year ago. The turmoil and strife became tribalism, each with very very distanced sets of principles. Do we even have a way to come back from this? I believe that the majority of America has been de-assimilated, if that’s even a word. America has ever only existed in our collective morality and well… that is virtually all gone.
The only way I continue to live my life feeling safe is by creating my own “wall”, that “wall” is pictured above. It’s just that, a wall. An inanimate object that just sits there. It represents lawful and respectful behavior. It represents my position being equal to your position. It represents law and order. What it does not represent is murder or mayhem. I’m sorry but this country is in grave danger of losing everything that makes it the best. We are in for a very rough ride.
